Recommended Capture Plate and Function for MOR/ryde Pin Box and Demco Hijacker Autoslide Hitch

I liked the idea of no capture plate for the hijacker. But i thought I was reading if you have a mor/ryde pin box box you need the plate adapter. I dont understand the reason why you need the plate. Thanks

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide Locking Plate for MOR/ryde Pin Boxes # DM6025 ensures the # DM8550034 and similar Autoslide hitches work properly. The Autoslide hitches use the weighted pressure and the angle of the pin box to determine movement, so this plate is required with the MOR/ryde pin boxes to ensure that proper function. You can see by the integrated hitch wedge that the locking plate will securely hold that style pin box in place.
The Demco Hijacker Autoslide is a great hitch that takes the concern and work out of having a short bed truck and 5th wheel trailer.
