Comparing EZ-Lube Spindles to Bearing Buddy Grease Caps

My boat trailer has grease caps with rubber plugs. Remove plug to get to zerk type. If i go with a bearing buddy typezerk on outside would I remove the inside zerk to allow the grease to move through. Or am I over thinking the solution?

It sounds like you have EZ-Lube spindles like # TRU74FR and special EZ-Lube grease caps like # RG04-040 on your boat trailer. Since you already have a handy method to top off your hubs' grease level there is really no need to move to Bearing Buddy grease caps. Both methods provide a good means to ensure the proper grease level but only one of the two is needed.
If you really want to switch from EZ-Lube spindles to Bearing Buddy grease caps you could do this, strictly speaking, but you would not really gain anything. It would be necessary to unscrew the zerk fittings so that the grease that is pressurized by the Bearing Buddy could work its way into the bearings.
