Replace your existing grease cap with a Bearing Buddy to ensure a safe, easy way to monitor and control the level of grease in your axle hub. To adjust the amount of grease in the hub, use a grease gun to add more through the zerk fitting. Adding grease moves the Bearing Buddy spring-loaded piston outward 1/8".
The O-ring inside the barrel of the Bearing Buddy maintains a seal from the outside. The interior of the Bearing Buddy is pressurized which prevents water from entering the barrel and diluting the grease.
An automatic pressure-relief feature is built into the Bearing Buddy. When the device is full, grease will seep around the edges of the piston and into the barrel. This prevents overfilling that can damage the inner seal.
You can manually check the grease level in your Bearing Buddy by pressing on the edge of the piston. If you can rock or move the piston, the hub is properly filled.

E trailer had the 2.24 bearing buddies in stock in stainless steel. They shipped them the same day that I placed the order and the shipping charges were reasonable and I received my order within five days. I'm very pleased with the service and the product, they fit perfectly.
It took a long time to get them because they were out and had to get them from the manufacturer. Once I got them and put them on they seem to be fine. It's been almost a year and still working

You can not get the OEM dust covers any more for this axel, it is on an old camper we made into a trailer. Easy re lubrication is a plus.
The product is fits and functions properly, a little expensive but there are no alternatives to this size bearing cap. The delivery packaging was inadequate. There was no packing material and the items bounced around inside the box damaging some of the individual packaging, though the items themselves were rugged enough to withstand the abuse.
I haven't had a chance to put them on yet because it's been way too cold here in Michigan but they arrived on time and someone from etrailer followed up with me which I would like to compliment them on. This wasn't a big order but they still took the time to let me know that they appreciated my business. I will definitely order from here in the future.
When the local national chain said that they would have to order some trailer bearing products for me that are fairly common, I said "Don't bother" and ordered them online from etrailer.com.
