5.30-12 Taskmaster Tires With Best Speed Rating For Ironton 5x8 Trailer
Published 02/28/2018 >
Question:
I am looking to upgrade the tires on my Ironton 5x8 trailer. It came stock with what the description says is “5.30-12in. tires” but they’re not rated for high speeds I think it was 55 or 45 MPH. I am going to be using this as a camper trailer and need to tow at highway speeds for extended periods of time. I have looked around etrailer and noticed that Taskmaster tires are clearly specified for highway speeds but I’m not sure what other options are. Could you point me towards a few options that would fit my needs? I am not looking for the best combination here, more economical options. Thank you,

I checked with my contact over at Taskmaster and they informed me that the 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire Load Range C # TT53012C, has an M speed rating and has a max speed of 81mph. If you are looking for a tire with a good speed rating, this is your best bet.
If you are looking for the tire on a wheel and are traveling on the highway and still want the 81 mph speed rating, you could consider a radial tire like the Taskmaster # TA78RR.
The Taskmaster 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire # TTWSF53012C. This is another option for you to choose from to see the value of a higher speed rating or a tire for everyday use. These tires are rated up to 65 MPH. It is okay to tow with these tires up to highway speeds.
