Timbren or Hellwig Load Pro for 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500

Updated 01/13/2025 | Published 01/12/2025

Question:

Good day, I have a 2023 Silverado2500. When towing our 3600kg 9m trailer with a drawbar weight of slightly over 400kg axle group set further back over bouncy roads there is a lot of bouncing up and down of the rear of the truck. No other heavy load is carried. I am thinking of either using Timbren SES TGMRCK25D or the Hellwig HE93XR system. Which one would you recommend for the application I have? With kindest regards uwe

Hey Uwe, I would definitely go with the Hellwig Load Pro 35 part # HE93XR over the Timbren. The Timbrens are notoriously harsh and bouncy and since that's not what you want I would definitely avoid them at all costs.

Hellwig will give you the support and stability you are wanting while actually improving the ride quality instead of hurting it.

I have another option you might be interested in too if you'd be interested in?

@Uwe Glad to help! So my all time fav option is the Roadactive kit part # RAS3611-HD. We've found this to be the ultimate suspension enhancement solution without any drawbacks. It provides all of the support you are needing, is easy to install, maintenance free, and unlike all other options it does not negatively affect ride quality loaded or unloaded. It also improves handling loaded and unloaded. It's somewhat similar to the Hellwig but it's spring tension is a totally different setup so the kits are a little different on the road.

@JamesonC thank you Jameson, So just to confirm, to reduce the up and down bouncing of the rear of the truck when towing on uneven and bouncy roads you would take the Roadactive over the Hellwig but not the Timbren? I don’t load much, this truck is only to tow our caravan. With best regards again Uwe

@Uwe Sorry for confusion. I would take the Roadactive kit over all options available. Including the Hellwig and Timbren. The Timbre is super harsh and I think you'd actually really dislike it whereas the Roadactive I think you'll love.
