It sounds like you will need a certain amount of drop, and there is a way for you to determine that by simply taking a couple measurements. First, make sure both your 2015 Ram 2500 and trailer are parked on level ground; you'll then want to measure from the ground to the top of the inside of your hitch receiver. Next, measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler.
If the height of your hitch is greater, you will need a ball mount with that amount of drop. If the height of the coupler is greater, you'll need a ball mount with that amount of rise. For example, if the top of the hitch on your truck measured 12 inches and the bottom of your coupler measured 10 inches, you would need a ball mount with 2 inches of drop.
There is potentially a way for you to kill two birds with one stone in regards to using the Equal-i-zer # EQ37120ET. For your 2-1/2 inch receiver you can simply get a different shank which is also going to give you more drop. The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4900 fits 2-1/2 inch receivers and offers a maximum drop of 6 inches.
I've added a link to video reviews of the Equal-i-zer system and shank for you to take a look at as well.
