Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at an Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with integrated 4 point sway control. A weight distribution system creates a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and your trailer. This unit features a 2-5/16" hitch ball. It has a gross towing weight capacity of 14,000 lbs. It's designed for trailers that have a tongue weight capacity or a tongue weight of 1,000 to 1,400 lbs. It fits a 2"x2" hitch that's rated for use with a weight distribution system, and as you can see, your adjustable shank or weight distribution shank is not included.

It's sold separately, so if you're in need of one, you can check out options at etrailer.com.Adding spring bars to your setup applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer. This results in an even-distribution of weight throughout your towing setup. So that results in a smooth ride, a level ride, as well as the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.Now, this unit also features integrated 4 point sway control that works to stop trailer sway before it begins. So the head is responsible for creating two points of sway control using what's known as rotational friction, so the downward pressure placed on the hitch ball fights or battles the upward pressure created by the spring bars. The upward force is placed on the spring bars on both sides of the system, creating the rotational friction that forces your trailer to stay in line all the time.

The other two points of sway control are created by the steel on steel friction that occurs when the spring bars slide within the L brackets that are mounted on the trailer tongue. The unique design makes the system compatible with surge-type brake actuators, and these spring bars flex for a controlled, even ride. So they're constructed of a specialized steel for superior dexterity and spring, and that pliability is important in minimizing trailer bounce.It comes with a no-drill, clamp-on bracket, so these can be adjusted along your trailer frame. They don't take up much space above the trailer frame, so that way you can accommodate frame-mounted items such as gas tanks, battery boxes, tool boxes, generators, and so on. And then when it comes to the head assembly, the desired tilt is achieved with a traditional washer and spacer rivet design, so this spacer rivet installed in a slot directly under the hitch ball comes through this area back here, and then you simply add or remove washers from the spacer rivet to tilt the head up or down and fine-tune the leverage on your entire system.We're looking at a durable steel construction with a dipped design, so the steel has all been dipped when it comes to the coating, so that creates a nice corrosion resistant unit.

It also comes with a 5/8" diameter hitch pin and clip to secure your weight distribution shank inside of your 2"x2" hitch. It also comes with the snap-up lever that eases installation of the spring bars by reducing the amount of lifting required by the trailer jack. Also, underneath the hitch ball is a set bolt that can be tightened to take out any slack or wobble between the head assembly and your weight distribution shank.The sway control brackets will be positioned 27" to 32" back from the center of the coupler on your trailer frame. These will fit a maximum trailer frame height of 6", and the multi-hold design makes them adjustable to fit most trailer frames out there on the market.
