does this rubber end fit a 2-liter soda bottle? I want to gravity-feed the herb garden in my greenhouse while I'm away in the RV.

Yes, the silicone rubber opening of the Camco Garden Hose Connector for Unthreaded or Stripped Faucets # CAM22484 will fit over the neck of a standard soda bottle. The amount of hose weight connected to this may require you to provide some additional security by duct taping the connector to the bottle's neck.
