According to the owner's manual for your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon, tire chains cannot be used on this vehicle due to limited clearance between the tires and vehicle body. However, I do still have options for you.
For your 225/65-17 tires, I recommend taking a look at a set of tire cables such as the Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains part # TC1042 for ladder style or part # TC343DC for v-style. Generally speaking, ladder bar style tire cables will be a bit more cost effective in comparison to v-style tire cables but v-style style tire cables will provide better traction and ride quality.
The v-style tire cables come with rubber adjusters to ensure a snug and secure fit but if you choose to go with the ladder bar style tire cables then you will also want to add the adjusters using part # TCMA2. I have attached a review video on both sets of tire cables for you as well.
