Question:
Im setting my truck up with a brake controller and 7 way plug to tow a travel trailer. I see two different harnesses that seem to work for my 2013 f150 supercrew 3.7 no tow package, does have a 4 pin plug back there Hopikins 37185 and a universal kit ETBC7. The universal kit seems far more involved to install. I have a harness behind the dash that the brake controller plugs into, so it seems there must also be wires run to the rear. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks

In order to install a brake controller on a 2013 Ford F-150 that already has a 4 flat you need to use the Universal In adapter # 37185 that you referred to. You'll need to plug in the brake controller with a separate harness such as # 22292 for Tekonsha controllers like the Prodigy P3 # 90195. I strongly recommend this controller as it is the most popular model we carry due to its effectiveness and ease of use. It will activate your trailer's brakes immediately in proportion to your F-150's brakes and offers three different boost levels so you can adjust your braking power.
The P3 levels automatically, has constant diagnostic checks, contains safeguards which defend your controller against shorts, and features an LCD display which is much easier to read than that of other controllers. This controller has been met with nearly universal praise; it has been reviewed by our customers more than 2,000 times and is averaging close to 5 out of 5 stars. I've added links to video reviews of the P3 as well as the rest of the products for you to take a look at as well.
