Recommended Air Helper Springs for a Lowered 1996 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Question:
Why is the helper air bag spring located in front of the rear axle instead of behind it. I would think that an air spring would assist the suspension most by being directly under, or behind the rear axle. I am considering the below air springs: Air lift Slam air helper air springs

The Air Lift SlamAir Air Helper Springs for Lowered Trucks part # AL59103 is confirmed to fit a 1996 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup but is intended to be used on trucks that have been lowered 2"-4". The reason for the bag placement deals largely with the vehicle's altered suspension. The amount of support has more to do with the type of airbag (Sleeve/Convoluted) in comparison to its placement (Front of Axle/On Axle/Behind Axle).
This is the only airbag kit we have designed for vehicles lowered 2"-4".
