Will Curt Clevis Hook Attach to Curt Class V Hitch?

Question:

I have several trailers which use the CURT 81960 Safety Latch Clevis Hooks to connect the safety chains to my truck. Will the CURT 81960 Safety Latch Clevis Hook properly engage the 15802 Hitch?

The Curt 81960 clevis hooks you referenced have a 1" opening, and the safety chain loops of Curt hitch # C15802 are approximately 1-1/8" wide so you would be able to use them, but the hooks would not quite close. For Curt clevis hooks with a larger opening there is the # C81970 which has a 1-1/3" opening, as well as the # C81980, which has an opening of 1-1/4".
