When the work calls for serious hauling, this Class V Curt trailer hitch delivers. It’s rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 20,000 lbs and up to 2,700 lbs of tongue weight, whether or not you’re using a weight distribution setup. The 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" receiver opening gives you the size and stability needed for heavy trailers, pintle mounts, or multi-ball setups. Built from fully welded, square-tube steel, it’s a solid foundation that can handle commercial-duty towing day after day.
You don’t need a lift or welding gear to get this hitch mounted. The design uses a bolt-on installation that attaches directly to existing frame holes—no cutting or drilling. A complete hardware kit and detailed instructions come in the box, so it’s ready for a driveway install using basic tools. Precision robotic welding ensures everything lines up properly once you get under the vehicle.
This hitch isn’t just strong—it’s built to stay that way. A protective base coat topped with a durable black powder coat finish shields the steel from rust and road grime. Whether you’re towing through rain, salt, or dust, the finish keeps corrosion at bay and helps the hitch maintain its clean look over years of use.
With its 2-1/2" receiver size and Class V rating, this hitch pairs easily with high-capacity ball mounts and pintle setups designed for heavy trailers. The design leaves plenty of clearance for connecting adjustable mounts or multi-ball options without adapters getting in the way. That makes it simple to swap between towing gear depending on what you’re hauling that day.

Year later - extremely happy. Far more sturdy than the factory hitch and absolutely zero complaints.

Glad to hear you are mostly liking it, Richard! Sorry to hear it doesn't support the bumper like the factory hitch though. That is the first time I have had anyone say that, so I will mention it to Curt to see if they can work something into the hitch in the future. What are you going to be towing?

One year in and the receiver hitch is still working splendidly. It still appears new if you subtract miscellaneous road grime and grit. I still consider this a major upgrade from the factory receiver. Worth the time, effort, and money. Buying from eTrailer was also a wise decision.
