Can 42 Inch Long Coiled Safety Cables be Used in Place of 30 Inch Long Chains

Question:
My vintage travel trailer has a very short tongue. My existing chains are only 30 inches long. Can I use a 42 inch long cable or will it be too long? I would like to have the cables.

Expert Reply:
Since the Curt safety cables # C80176 are coiled the extra length will not be a problem. The coiled design will keep them off of the ground! I have linked a video review below of these cables for you.
