Recommended Weight Distribution System For 2017 Keystone Hideout 27DBS WE Travel Trailer

Updated 09/07/2017 | Published 09/06/2017

Question:

I just recently bought a Travel Trailer and have been experiencing some issues. I am trying to figure out if I have the correct weight distribution system for my setup, as it seems to bottom out, and I am experiencing rear end sag. I own a 2006 GMC Yukon SLT 5.3L V8. We purchased a 2017 Keystone Hideout 27DBS WE Travel Trailer. Dry weight on the trailer is 6,400 lbs. Tongue weight is 800 lbs. The trailer is just shy of 32 feet The RV dealership installed the Fastway e2 Round Bar Hitch 10,000 lb system, but in looking at the setup it just does not seem like the weight is distributed correctly. I have ordered the Timbren SES Rear Suspension Enhancement in an attempt to eliminate some of the sag, but am wondering if I am just masking the issue and risking damage to my suspension. I would rather make sure that I have the correct weight distribution system for my vehicle and travel trailer combination. It is worth noting that my wife and I are RV Newbies and as such have been staying at full hookup sites that do not require us to fill fresh water tanks and add water weight to our setup.

We have just what you need. To prevent the sag when towing a weight distribution system is what you are in need of. The part # RP66084 would be your best option. It has a tongue weight range that fits your 800 lbs of tongue weight well as it's range is 600-1,200 lbs and features only sway control on market to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.

For sag from towing a weight distributions system works better than a suspension enhancement kit as it reduces sag by distributing some of the tongue weight of the setup up to the front axle of the tow vehicle which helps with braking and handling.
