Question:
I have the Fastway E2 weight distribution hitch with round bars. 2019 Ford F150 with max tow package. We had a 2021 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite 263BHXL with a hitch weight of 682 lbs. We were using the 800 lb bars. We just upgraded to a 2025 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite 28VBXL with a hitch weight of 790 lbs. What is your recommendation concerning use of the 800 lb bars or changing to the 1000 lb bars? Thank you for your help.

Hey Rodney, congrats on the new trailer! So long as you keep your tongue weights below 800 lbs the 8,000 lbs Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control item # FA94-00-0800 will still work on your new travel trailer. You'll be at the top end of the 400 lbs - 800 lbs tongue weight range but you'll still be good.
If you get the system set up and feel like you don't have enough support you can always upgrade to the 1,000 lbs tongue weight spring bars item # FA94-02-1099. These have a range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs.
Have you tested out your item # FA94-00-0800 system on the new trailer yet?

Based on your answer, it would seem best to use the heavier bars since I would be in the middle of the weight range. Where did you get the weight ranges? I can't seem to find those anywhere. With the 800 lb bars, the trip home just seemed a bit more bouncy than the previous trailer. We were also not fully loaded as we had left most of our stuff at home for picking up the new trailer.
