Does the Curt T-Connector C56310 Fit a 2016.5 Mazda CX-5

Question:

Hi , I just purchase the Curt lighting kit C56310 for my 2016.5 Mazda CX 5. Because the car is not actually a 2016 model I want to be 100 sure that I have the correct wiring before I connect it. The connectors appear the same as my car. My question is , Is the Curt C56310 wiring correct for a 2016.5 Mazda CX 5 to connect to a trailer with LED lights. Thanks,

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56310 is in fact the correct trailer wiring kit for your 2016.5 Mazda CX-5. It will work with the LED lights on your trailer. I have attached a video of this kit being installed on a similar CX-5 that you can use as a reference.

If you do not already have a hitch receiver on your CX-5 then I recommend installing the Draw-Tite # 76138 as it has a 2 inch hitch receiver which is compatible with many more applications than a 1-1/4 inch receiver is.

If you don't already have a Ball Mount and Hitch Ball then I also recommend going with a Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which comes with 2 Ball Mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. There are also 2 Hitch Balls, one 1-7/8" trailer hitch ball and the other 2" trailer hitch ball. A Pin and Clip is also included. You will want to make sure that these options are correct for your towing setup before purchasing. I have attached a helpful article on choosing the correct ball mount for you to check out as well.
