How to Determine What Type of 5th Wheel Rails are Installed on Truck

Question:

I recently purchased a 2006 F-350 Super Duty DRW. There is an existing set of above bed rails. However, I cant see any indication of a brand. How could I find out which sliding 5th wheels will fit the existing rails?

Most likely, the fifth wheel rails already installed on your 2006 Ford F-350 are above-bed, industry standard rails. Most manufacturers (with some exceptions) use these types of rails for their fifth wheel hitches to install into. Each manufacturer makes their own brand of rail kit, but these types of rails will essentially have the same dimensions so that they can accommodate fifth wheel hitches from different manufacturers.

I have attached an image that labels the dimensions of standard rails. I recommend comparing it to what you have to ensure that the rails on your truck are indeed industry standard.

If you find this to be the case, a sliding fifth wheel hitch like the Pro Series 20K # PS30121 will be a great option.
