Question:
We are trying to find a cargo carrier that folds up. Our question is will C18151 or C18109 clear this spare tire at the rear of a 2014 Jeep wrangler unlimited?

What determines if a cargo carrier will fold is the distance from the center hitch pin hole to the nearest point on the carrier when the rack is folded up compared to the distance from the center hitch pin hole to the furthest point of the spare tire. This distance depends on the size of the shank that is inserted into the receiver for each product. We determine this distance on most of the products we sell and it is listed in the "Product Specifications" section of the item's detailed description.
I've included a diagram to help you in determining this distance for a Jeep with a spare tire to get the clearance of your spare tire.
Between these two products, the 19x60 Curt Carrier, part #C18109 , has a distance of 5" from the hitch pin hole to the nearest point when folded. This will not clear most Jeep's spare tires.
Comparatively, the 20x60 Curt Carrier, part # C18151 has a distance of 9", giving you a better chance of clearing a spare tire.
Again, this will be dependent on your own spare. For reference the spare used in the video is a 255/75R17 sized tire.
In any case, you'll likely need to purchase a 5/8-inch hitch pin, part # PC3 as the pin is sold separately for these carriers.
