Question:
I have what I believe is a Bulldog BD028900, or similar hitch on a 25,000 lb flatbed trailer, and Id like to convert it to 5th wheel to pull behind a full size tractor. The height is adjustable with a crank, and I assume an internal screw, and I would like to retain that feature as will will pull with different trucks. Is there an adapter that will handle it, or do I need to have it custom built? Thanks, Johnnie

You have some options in converting the gooseneck coupler on the trailer to be used with a 5th wheel trailer hitch. But, there is not an adpater that will replace the inner tube of the Bulldog Gooseneck Coupler, # BD028900.
What you can do is replace the whole assembly, inner and outer tube, with Bulldog Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter, # BD0289590300. This coupler fits the trailer the same as a gooseneck coupler with inner and outer tubes. It is adjustable. The only feature lost would be the top wind crank.
