I can not find the plug under the dash? The factory 7 pin plug is in the bumper?

If your 1998 Dodge Ram has a factory trailer connector of any kind there will be a connector under the dash to install an electric trailer brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195. The adapter to plug into the connector is # 3020-P. I've linked a video of the install on a 1999 Dodge.

The connector under the dash should be blue and it's located on top of a white junction box to the left of the brake pedal. I've attached a picture of the connector next to the junction box.

The 7-way trailer connector needs to be factory installed for the connector to be under the dash. If the 7-way has the Chrysler logo then it's factory. If not the it's likely an aftermarket connector and you'll need to hardwire the brake controller into the truck using our wiring kit # 5506.
