Question:
Hi there, I am in the process of rebuilding my Kodiak 225 Calipers. I am struggling to remove the old dust seals...they seem to be adhered to the caliper...maybe melted on? Is there a trick to removing them?

There is not any melting that is done to keep the dust seals on, but they may have used an adhesive of some sort. Normally they are just a tight fit and a small flat head screwdriver can be used with a rubber mallet to remove it.
Most of the time you have to replace the seals because of wear anyway, so I recommend using the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit for 3,500 lb to 6,000 lb Trailer Brakes # KDBC225KIT or # KDBC250KIT if you have the 7 or 8K axles and brakes.
