Question:

I have a. F - 150 2017 xlt with 275/65-18 tires. Can you recommend a tire cable/chain? Problem is the manual does not recommend chains or cables for that size tire even though its original equipment

Some vehicles can use tire chains only on specific tire sizes and/or only on one of the two axles, and this is determined by the auto maker. Other vehicles can use only a certain type of chain, such as low-profile S-Class chains, due to limited clearance in the wheel wells.

I cannot recommend you go against anything noted in your truck's owner's manual but we do have tire chains, including low-profile S-Class cables types, that fit your tire size. All are shown on the linked page.

Among these is the cable-type chain # PW2028C from Glacier, which is a low-profile S-Class-rated item. Another S-Class chain that performs much better is the Titan # TC2327, which is shown in the linked video.
