Trailer Hitch with Highest Towing Capacity for 2016 Volvo V60

Question:
Hello, I have a 2016 Volvo V60 Cross Country AWD with a 3,500 lbs. towing capacity and am looking to buy a trailer and will need a tow hitch. The hitch weight for the trailer is 405 lbs, dry weight is 3,005 lbs and gross weight is right at 3,500 lbs. What is the hitch spec needed to accommodate this type of trailer? Thanks!

The closest rated hitch we have for your 2016 Volvo V60 is the Draw Tite hitch part # 75916 which has a 4,000 lb trailer capacity and a 400 lb tongue weight capacity. Yours is right at 405 so technically it's too heavy but if you can find a way to lose 5 lbs off of it you'd be fine. I know that seems silly but we can't ever recommend exceeding towing capacities.
If your vehicle has a tongue weight capacity lower than 400 lbs though you would have to abide by that too.
You also need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine the towing capacity of the vehicle and be sure not to exceed this figure too.
