Trailer Tires Leaning on One Axle when Making Turns

when turning it appears that the tire leans on its side. is this abnormal? Only one axle does it but both sides.

Expert Reply:

Since you are noticing that the tires on just one axle of your trailer are leaning when making turns, it's possible that you are towing an out of level trailer. Check to make sure that when the trailer is connected to your tow vehicle, the trailer is sitting as level as possible. It sounds like one axle on your tandem axle trailer is supporting more weight than the other, causing it to wear and lean, as you mentioned.

Also just check to make sure that you are not overloading the trailer. You will want to always stay below the load capacity of the tires as listed on their sidewall.

I have also attached a couple of articles on trailer tires that you may find helpful.
