For your 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon LL Bean with dual exhaust, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75560. This is confirmed to fit your vehicle and we have also had customers install this hitch onto their LL Bean Model with the dual exhaust and reported no interference issues. This 2 inch hitch will provide a 400 pound tongue weight and 4,000 pound towing weight capacity, although I also recommend checking the vehicle's capacities as listed in the owner's manual. I have attached an installation video on your vehicle as well as the written installation details for you to check out.
If you plan on doing any towing, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118461 to install a 4-way trailer connector needed to power the trailer's signal lights. The T-One connector will plug directly into existing wiring in your vehicle.
Then for a ball mount and hitch ball, I recommend looking at the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit will include two ball mounts with differing rise and drops as well as the two most common sized hitch balls. I have also attached a link that will take you to our available selection of ball mounts and a helpful article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup if the mounts in the kit are not sufficient.
