Installing a Brake Controller on a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class

Question:
A google search took me to your site. We have a 2015 Mercedes GL550. It has a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds but the dealer tells us it is impossible to wire a brake controller to it since the wiring is too complicated. I noticed that you say that Brake controller wiring adapters are available for most Make Mercedes-Benz GL-Classs, allowing for simple plug-and-play installation. Would this work for our GL550? Both the Mercedes-Benz and the Trailer have 7-Way wiring harnesses. Thanks!

I have a solution for you, but unfortunately there are no plug-n-play style wiring adapters available for your 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, and it is usually fairly difficult to hardwire in a brake controller because you have to locate the stop light switch.
What I recommend using is the Curt Echo # C51180. This is the best option for your Mercedes-Benz because it plugs right into the 7-Way wiring harness on your Mercedes-Benz. The Echo will activate your trailer's brakes in proportion to your Mercedes-Benz braking and is controlled with your Apple/Android smart phone via Bluetooth connection.
A couple things to note about this brake controller option:
1 - Vehicles with certain late model European tow packages may require the use of another truck or SUV to pair the receiver and transmitter
2 - The Echo cannot be submerged or immersed in water.
I have included a demonstration video for you to review as well.
