Install your Curt electric trailer brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in port beneath your vehicle's dash.
Features:
To install your Curt electric brake controller, you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain auto manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein wiring is run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. When this is done, a port is installed at your dash so that you can easily plug in a brake controller.
This adapter plugs into the port on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, and it is taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
No hardwiring is required to install this adapter. After you plug it into the factory port, you simply plug the other end of the adapter directly into your electric trailer brake controller. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time to transfer it to another vehicle or securely stow it away.

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a Custom Wire Adapter by CURT for your trailer brake controllers. Now, this is considered a dual-plugin, meaning there's no splicing required, it simply plugs in directly into your vehicle's built-in adapter port. Now, folks, this is a custom-fit application. Looks like it's gonna fit the 2012s through some of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz, different classes, different options, so make sure you check the Fit Guide here at etrailer.com to be sure this works for your specific fit. You can always reach out to us, and we'll be more than happy to assist you with picking that out as well.
So, like I said, no cutting, no splicing, it's a custom application. Basically, this adapter is gonna plug into the port on your vehicle's built-in brake controller wiring harness, and that harness should be located under the dash about the left side of the steering column, and it's usually taped to other harnesses near the emergency brake pedal. Now, don't quote me on that, 'cause obviously, manufacturers of vehicles change locations sometimes where they hide stuff, so that's about the general area, and that's per the instructions from CURT as well. So, again, one of these ports is gonna plug right into that and then the other one will plug into the back of that brake controller. This is compatible with both time-delayed and proportional brake controllers from CURT, and that brake controller must have a built-in plug for this adapter to work.
It's not gonna work on controllers with pigtail wiring harnesses, so again, if you have questions about that, call us before you make a purchase. Make sure you're getting the right stuff. Well, folks, that is gonna wrap it up for our look together. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
