How to Wire 2-Wire LED Lights to Enclosed Trailer
Updated 04/28/2024 | Published 03/01/2017 >
Question:
Want to add additional lights, LED, to interior of enclosed trailer. Already has existing switch and lamp, planned to splice into wire and then have the LED on same switch. However the issue is that there is only one wire for the light...how would I go about adding a two wire led light set up?

No problem. If your existing trailer interior lights use a 1-wire hookup this means they use their mounting hardware to make the ground connection and the single lead is the +12V feed. Adding more high-efficiency LED lights with 2 wires will only require you to run that separate (white) ground wire to a suitable metal surface on the trailer (such as the surface the existing light are mounted to).
The linked page will display all LED type interior white lights suitable for use in your enclosed trailer.

So in this situation. If I want to add 5 separate lights. I have to connect the second wire to a metal surface at every single fixture?
