Question:

I need to replace a couple brackets on my thule rack. im hoping kit 7533998 will work. 2 questions, however. on the installation pdf in step 2 it showed a bushing of some sorts. yet i cant seem to find that bushing in any kit. also, on my top bracket, the hex nut used to be embedded in the bracket. The rack, itself (an older thule) has a little different design; bolt went down from the rack and connected to the top bracket, listed. From the instructions, it now looks like the bolt is first inserted in the bracket and then connects to the rack with a plastic bolt; completely opposite of mine. do i need another part in addition to this kit for that connection?

I contacted Thule about your older Ski and Snowboard rack and my contact said that the only replacement mounting brackets available for older racks is the Kit # 7533998, that you referenced. They said that this will only fit on the older 724 or 725 Ski and Snowboard Racks.

You will also need the Replacement Round Nut (4 of them; one for each mounting bracket), part # 853-5439, to install this kit. Other than that you will not need anything else.
