Installation Of Ultra-Fab 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver For 5th Wheel Trailer Frames

Question:
Could the subject trailer receiver hitch be bolted on instead of being welded ? I would propose to run four bolts two from side and two from bottom on each end bracket into the rectangular trailer frames.

The manufacturer made the Ultra-Fab 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver for 5th Wheel Trailer Frames # UF35-946403 for a weld on application. It is possible to attach the hitch in the manner you suggested, but it is not rated for a bolt on application. Since this hitch isn't for towing purposes, it may function fine with a bolt on application but the drilling will bring down it's capacity. I've attached a picture of the dimensions for you. There isn't a ton of space for 4 holes and drilling will void any warranty.
