Question:

Looking at the C-130701 as possible RV hitch. Want to use to carry Bike rack , or cargo tray for Generator. Is this a good option? Anything else you would recommend? Better to bolt on, or weld? Thanks

You'll need to measure the distance between the side stanchions on your Grand Design Imagine 2500RL to determine which hitch will fit, but the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver - 18"-51" Wide - 2" Drop - Class III - 2" # C13701 is a great option that can be bolted or welded on. This hitch has a 500-lbs tongue weight capacity, so it's well rated for both bike racks and a cargo tray. The only advantage to a weld on application is that, if welded properly, the attachment point, weld, will be stronger than the hitch or trailer frame steel and one of those two would have to fail before the weld would break.

If you need something to cover a larger span than 51", then you can use the Ultra-Fab 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver for Trailer Frames # UF35-946403; this hitch can only be welded on to the trailer frame but it will fit on frames up to 77" wide. This hitch only has a 350-lbs tongue weight rating, so you'll want to verify that your generator and carrier weigh less than that combined.

If you don't already have a bike rack that is rated for use on a travel trailer then I recommend using the Swagman Trailhead 4-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Fixed Base # S63381, which can carry up to 4 bikes weighing up to 35-lbs each/100-lbs total.

If you're in need of a carrier for your generator the 24x27 TorkLift Lock and Load Maximum Security Cargo Tray for 2" Hitches 400 lbs # TLA7752, which will fit in a 2 inch hitch and allows you to lock the generator up to the carrier and RV.
