Does Draw Tite Hitch for 2017 Honda CR-V Allow Hands Free Liftgate to Function
Published 02/08/2017 >
Question:
hi there, im interested in purchasing the draw hitch 2inch for my 2017 Honda Crv Touring Awd model, my question is, would this hitch in any way effect the sensor on the bottom rear of this vehicle, its the sensor hands free access power tailgate that lets me open the rear hatch by just swiping my foot underneath the vehicle from the middle to the right side ? additional info: Hands Free Access Touring only – New to Honda and exclusive to the CR-V Touring is a new hands free access system. Convenient and versatile. The power tailgate can be easily opened or closed simply by kicking a foot underneath either of the two motion sensors at the rear center of the vehicle one at the lower rear bumper edge and another underneath the rear fascia. The sensors can detect a kicking motion in-out foot motion required longitudinal range: 1.2 inches to 3.9 inches from sensor, lateral range: around the center of the rear bumper. This enables people carrying items the ability to load or retrieve items, even if both hands are full and unable to operate the remote. It also keeps the drivers hands clean if the tailgate and handle are dirty. The hands free access works as long as the user is carrying the CR-Vs key fob.

For your 2017 Honda CR-V the Draw Tite hitch part # 76128 is a confirmed fit. Your hands-free tailgate will still function just fine but you will have to kick to either side of the hitch opening to activate the gate.
