Can I Flip the Shank on the Pro Series Solo Cargo Carrier to Change the Carrier Base Height
Published 01/06/2017 >
Question:
I have ordered a PS1040100 for my 03 Explorer. I Have 16inch clearance to the ground from the receiver. Is there any reason that I should not flip the shank to make loading and access to the vehicles hatch contents easier? If flipping the shank inadvisable, is a straight available?

I check with the manufacturer and they told me that yes the hitch shank on the Pro Series Solo Cargo Carrier # PS1040100, can be flipped either way to help with clearance when opening the cargo area door on your 2003 Ford Explorer.
You will just need to remember that once flipped, you will be decreasing the clearance between the cargo carrier base and the ground. You will have to be careful when driving in areas were clearance my be an issue.
