Recommended RV Ladder Mounted Bike Rack for 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

i have purchased a 2020 Jayco 5th wheel, model 28.5 RSTS. could you please tell me which ladder rack you would recommend for carring two adult bikes. we pull a small kayak trailer and we cannot use a hitch mounted rack due to clearance issues to the front of the kayaks, So a ladder rack seems to be our only solution, unless you additional recommendations, thanks

Unless you used a front mounted receiver and a hitch mounted bike rack to carry the bikes on the front of your tow vehicle, a ladder mounted bike rack like the Stromberg Carlson # LA-102 is going to be your best bet. The rack is compatible with ladders with vertical supports up to 1" in diameter. The rack can carry two bicycles up to 25 lbs apiece. If your ladder and bikes meet those parameters, the Stromberg Carlson would be a great choice for you.

If the idea of using a front mount hitch and hitch mounted bike rack appeals to you, you could reply with the year, make and model of your tow vehicle and I'd be happy to make a recommendation.

What's with the picture? I cannot find this bike rack (S80630) on etrailer.

@Mitch The Swagman Rv Bike Rack S80630 is no longer available. That said, we have the Stromberg Carlson 2 Bike Carrier for RVs - Ladder Mount - Aluminum # LA-102 which is a similar style bike rack that mounts on an RV/camper ladder.

@AndrewN I ended up buying the Stromberg Carlson 2 off of Amazon, which I regret. The bike rack is very cheaply made, and very unstable on the RV ladder. I returned it immediately. I only needed a bike rack to transport one bicycle. I ended up throwing a moving blanket on the bed in the RV and laid it on the bed.
