Curt 5th Wheel Installation Kit for a 2005 Chevy Silverado and a Husky 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
Question:
which Curt universal mout kit is for me? I have a 05 Chevy Silverado SRW and a standard Husky 16k fifthwheel hitch bought new in 2004. Will the Curt #C16418 work for me? And how will I mark where to drill once my brackits are in? Thanks for your time,

No matter which model or bed size (excluding 5-1/2 foot beds) your 2005 Chevy Silverado is and has, you will be able to use the Curt 5th Wheel Installation Kit, # C16418-204 or # C16418-104. These rails are compatible with Husky 5th wheel trailer hitches. I have included a link to the installation details below.
If you look at page 3 of the instructions, it shows a diagram of where the rails will need to be placed. On a long box, the rear side of the forward most rail should be 52.375 inches from the edge of the truck bed. On a short box, it will be 47-1/2 inches. The rails will also need to be centered side to side so the end of the rail is the same distance from the side of the bed on each side.
With the forward most rail in position you can mark the holes that need to be drilled or use a center punch using the rail as a template. With the rail lined up you can insert the 5th wheel hitch to determine the location of the rear most rail. Make sure it is centered side to side and mark/punch the holes for it.
