I need a electronic brake controller for my 2017 chevy silverado. My vehicle is not coming up in the system. Will the Tekonsha P3 work?

For your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 would be an excellent option for a brake controller that is confirmed as a fit. All you need is the correct install harness, part # 3016.

My Z-82 pigtail plug does not have the color coded wires in the same configuration as the Curt 51451 plug and play wire harness that came with the Curt 51110 Venturer Brake Controller. Is there something wrong here. When I plug in the Curt harness and controller, the brake lights stay on after the truck is shut off and doors closed. Open a door, and the lights go out. Do you have any ideas?

@ChrisR I have a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Double Cab. It has the V-6 engine with trailering equipment package. I have ordered another controller (same as the one I have) and I will email you the results of how this one works. It should be here today or tomorrow. If it works, I will send the other one back to Amazon. Thanks for you concern, Chris. Talk later.

@ChrisR Just installed the new controller. Everything seemed fine. Hit the brake pedal and the light came the controller, shut the door and NO brake lights! Checked on it a few minutes later and THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON! What is going on?? I GIVE UP!! I'm going to hook it up to the new trailer tomorrow and see what happens. If those lights don't go out on their own, then I'll just unplug it until I need to pull the trailer. Hope it doesn't burn or short something out. This is a hair-puller!!! Thanks for your time, Chris, I appreciate it.

There was a large enough generation change between those two trucks that a fit from one would not fit the other. The Westin set part #23-1955 that you referenced does fit the 2008 GMC Sierra as long as it's a crew cab.
