Recommended Brake Controller for a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

I’d like to install a brake controller into my 2016 Chevy Silverado LT 1500. Besides the RED26CR itself is there any other harnesses or parts I would need?

Thanks for the information Mike. The Redarc item # RED26CR includes the Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller and a custom plug in harness designed for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 so long as your truck came with the factory tow package. You will not need any other parts to complete the installation.

The plug in adapter included with the Redarc item # RED26CR connects to a port located inside a black plastic box behind the e-brake. I have attached a diagram below that will show you were to find the port to plug this adapter in. I've also linked an installation video to help you get it setup.

The Tow-Pro Liberty item # RED26CR is a proportional brake controller that automatically adjusts your trailer's braking based on the deceleration of your Silverado. It has a unique installation method where you can mount the control knob on your dash or console and hide the main unit out of sight.

What kind of trailer are you pulling? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

@Mike Thanks for that feedback Mike! The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty item # RED26CR is designed to work with trailers that have up to two axles so it'll be perfect for pulling your dual axle Sure-Trac trailer. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
