Question:

I was sold a Demco 18000# HiJacker autoslide hitch last year for my 2015 Nissan Titan crew short 57 box and waqs assured that it would provide sufficient clearance for 90 degree turns. I have since found out that I was sold the wrong product. Can you advise if I can use just the replacement head and base assembly from the 13000# hijacker or will I have to replace the complete assembly. I am towing a 6800# Titanium 24E29. Thanks for your assistance and can you also advise if there is any market for my old Hijacker :-. .......

Since your truck bed is 5-1/2 feet long you would have to use the 13k Demco Hijacker # DM6141. This is the head and base assembly that will bolt up to the current mounting assemblies that you have on your 18 Hijacker.

This head assembly will slide 22-1/2 inches which will give you the needed clearance to make tight turns.

If your plan is to resell the hitch though you might be better off just selling the whole assembly and getting the # DM8550040 since it may be easier to sell a complete hitch instead of a partial hitch.
