Expert Reply:

For most tow bars the "safe zone" between the RV and the toad is 3 inches off level. The height is measured from the ground to the center of the receiver opening and to the center of the base plate. If you find that your set up is outside of the safe zone then there are high/low adapters you can use to compensate for the height difference.
