Question:
I have 8000 lb. Hayes Axles on an older Ditch Witch trailer. Is this enough info to suggest a brake assembly number for replacement?

The electric brakes I recommend for your 8,000-lb axles are the AxleTek, part # AKEBRK-8R for the right hand(passenger side) of the trailer and part # AKEBRK-8L for the left hand(driver side). These are self-adjusting brakes and also have covers for the adjuster holes to help keep dirt and debris out of the brake assemblies.
If you are looking for disc brakes I recommend Kodiak, part # K2HR89DE. These have a 13-inch hub/rotor and an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern. Bearings and the seal are sold separately. You would need part # 25580 for the inner bearing, part # 02475 for the outer bearing, and for a seal you would need part # RG06-070.
