The brake drums that we carry for the 8,000 lbs axles come in two types, grease or oil bath style. The drums that have the 5/8 inch wheel studs, like # 8-285-10UC3-A, are for the oil bath style drums. The grease lubed drums, like # AKHD-865-8-K, are using 9/16 inch wheel studs.
If you have the 5/8 inch studs, then you will need # 8-285-10UC3-A. The drums will come with new lug nuts, bearings, and seals. The only difference is these drums are designed to use oil instead of grease.
You will need to know the bearing and seal numbers to make sure to find the correct drums you will need. If you have grease drums the stud size should be 9/16 of an inch. However, someone may have custom-fit a set of drums, bearings, and seals or changed out he wheel studs on the drums.
