Question:

I am looking at the class 5 hitches for a 2014 ram 2500. However, I see that several of them are made to fit below the factory hitch. Are there any of the higher weight rated ones that will fit more flush against the bumper? Thank you

We have two Class V hitches that are designed to fit your 2014 Ram 2500 without a factory hitch installed.

The hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # DT45518. This has a 2-1/2 inch receiver opening. To see how far below the bumper this hitch will sit you can take a quick measurement. From the bottom of the frame the hitch attaches to, down to the top of the receiver opening it measures 9 inches.

The other hitch we have is the Curt, part # C15704. The distance form the frame to the receiver tube on this hitch measures 6.65 inches.

You can measure from the frame to the bottom of the bumper and decide which hitch will work best for you.
