Replacement Hitch Pin and Rubber Straps for the Yakima BigHorn Bike Rack

Question:

Hi, I need a hitch pin and a few straps for an older yakima 3 bike 1 1/4 hitch rack. From reading other questions on your site it seems like it might be an old big horn? I attached a photo of the bike rack and strap. Each cradle has an arm underneath it with what looks like a pulley anti sway maybe?. Mine looks similar to an Older Big Horn Bike Rack # Y8820103 Appears to be the same straps but I saw a few complains about them and you recommended # 8890221instead? Any help you can offer would be appreciated! Thanks

Based on your photo, it looks like you have an older Yakima BigHorn and we have all the parts you need to get your bike rack in working order.

For a Hitch Pin you will need the Yakima Replacement Tongue and Pivot Hardware # Y8780018. This is the exact replacement hitch pin for your 1-1/4" bike rack.

For rubber straps, you will need the Yakima Replacement Rubber Straps for Older BigHorn Models # Y8820103. These are a direct replacement and we sell these straps in pairs. So if you are needing six straps, you will need a quantity of three.

The Yakima Rubber Straps # 8890221, which you referenced, may fit on your bike rack if it was a newer model BigHorn. However, based on your photos, it looks like you have and older model, so I cannot guarantee these straps will work on your particular bike rack. I attached diagrams of both straps showing their different dimensions.
