The Steel Flush Door Latch, part # N3980 has a threaded hole on the back side that would be in the inside of the door.

I called my contact at Redline and the knob that can be used on the inside of the door is part # 4PLSP.

To install the handle will require you to drill holes along the lip of the door latch. I went out to our warehouse to get the dimension you are looking for and found that when the latch is pulled up it will stick up 1 inch above the housing.

If you instead went with the Junior Latch part #L1883 you could then use the knob part #4PLSP but there isn't a knob solution for the #N1980.
