The correct cable with hook for the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL15440 is the # DL24104. This is a 50 foot long 1/4 diameter galvanized aircraft cable with safety hook. The cable fastener you will need for this is the # DL24362 which is sold separately from the wire cable.
If you prefer the strap the one recommended for this hand winch is # DL24251. This 2 inch wide strap is 20 foot long and comes with the safety hook as well as the bolt to secure it to the winch.
