I went to our warehouse and measured the CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly, part # CE10401G.
The roller bracket measures 5-1/2 inches wide. The width of the roller pin with the caps on is 6-1/4 inches. This roller assembly will not fit in the 5-inch opening you said you have.
I recommend you go with the 4 inch roller, part # CE10400G. The # CE10400G bracket measures 4-1/2 inches wide and is 6 inches long.
