CE Smith Boat Trailer Parts - Keel Roller Assembly - CE10401G Review

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the CE Smith five-inch-wide Deep V Keel Roller Assembly for Boat Trailers. Now this Deep V Keel Roller will support your boat's keel as it sits on the trailer, helps ease the loading/unloading of your boat, and it's also designed to help absorb any road shock while the boat is being trailered. Now, the panel bracket, this will let you bolt the roller assembly onto the front of your boat trailer. You can see it has the slotted mounting holes, and that's to allow to adjust the position during installation.

Now it does require a half-inch or seven-sixteens fasteners. These are not included. The bracket itself is a nice sturdy galvanized steel bracket to resist corrosion. And if you notice on each bend right here, you can see there's three gussets here, three over here. So a total of six gussets here.

And what those do is those will provide extra strength by stiffening these bends on the bracket. The roller itself is a black rubber roller, delivers nice long lasting performance. It is made in the USA. A few specs on this, we'll start with the roller itself. Width on it, one end to the other, is five inches. The diameter at the widest part on the end is right at three inches.

The shaft that it sits on is a five-eighths-inch diameter shaft. Now the mounting bracket itself is going to measure five and a half inches wide. The heighth on just the bracket is six and three-eighths inches tall, and the overall heighth of the bracket, including the roller all the way up to the top here, it's right at about eight and a half inches tall. Now the mounting slots themselves, you can see they're going to be five inches tall, width on them, nine-sixteenth of an inch and the spacing on them center to center is three inches. But again, when this is mounted on the front your keel will set right into this V here, and you can see the roller rolls really freely, allows your boat to load and unload easily. But that should do it for the review on the CE Smith's five-inch wide, Deep V Keel Roller Assembly for boat trailers..
