Question:
Do you make a 2inch receiver for a 2003 Buick Lesabre?
asked by: Greg J
Expert Reply:
All of the trailer hitches available for your 2003 Buick LeSabre are Class II hitches with 1-1/4 inch receivers. Curt hitch # C12044 has the highest tongue weight capacity of the options at 350 pounds. But Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements. All of the hitches are rated for 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight.
If you have a 2 inch accessory you want to use there are adapters such as # HTAD. But the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. On the Curt hitch that would reduce the tongue weight capacity to 175 pounds.
If you plan on doing some towing the recommended ball mount is # C45520. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring use # C59236 to add a 4-Way flat to the rear of the vehicle.
