actual hieght in rise position from top of receiver to top of ballIs this height actually 7 1/2inch or something different

When adjusted so it's at its maximum drop, the B & W # BWTS10040B Adjustable Ball Mount measures 7 inches from the inside top of the receiver to the base of the trailer ball, at maximum rise, the height difference is 7-1/2 inches as shown in the photo I've edited for you.
